Noisy Cat
A cat had been making terrible noises outside my apartment for the past several hours as I attempted to work on several projects-at-once on my computer. I’d grown tired of the bazillion cats that had suddenly swarmed my once peaceful neighborhood and went outside to investigate. In my back yard, I heard the cat.
The neighbor’s dog had given up barking at it. As I listened for the cat it came to me, slowly, in the dark. It was a teenager and probably in heat. I picked it up the way a mama cat does, got in my girlfriend’s car and dropped it off a mile down the road to be some other neighborhood’s problem.
Somewhere in Heaven, I just got brownie points for not doing to it what I really wanted to.
